ABOUT ABOUT

Written by:C.S. Wyatt

Women Say F—k, Too introduces Dani, Kitty, and Stephanie, three young women from Western Pennsylvania trying to escape their struggling Beaver County township in the early 1990s. The first play in a trilogy, Women Say… addresses poverty, gender, sexuality, and the meaning of friendship in a Pittsburgh context. It is summer, 1994, in a struggling Western Pennsylvania township. Three life-long friends have returned home for summer break. Dani and Kitty have returned home after graduating from a large state university. Stephanie, a year older, has completed her first year of medical school at the same university. This is the first of three plays following their lives, each play a decade apart.

About the company:

A map of the LAB’s process is akin to the scientific method. We ask a question regarding today's society prompting research on the topic. The company challenges their preconceived notions by testing, which presents itself in several forms from staged readings to full productions. We analyze the audience’s experience and reactions to report our findings and how they compare with our initial thoughts. The brain and the soul of the artist combines and creates a powerful solution. Our inaugural production is C. S. Wyatt’s daring play The Gospel Singer, which asks if religion is a drag. This world premier opens in August of 2014.
